Expectativas em relação ao mercado de trabalho: pesquisa com estudantes de cursos de Ciências Contábeis no município de São Paulo

Abstract

Considered the possible gaps between the curriculum structure and the economic, productive and social dynamic of accounting courses in Brazil, it makes necessary to examine their understanding of reality beyond the traditional structures. On that basis, this research is proposed to verify what is expected from students in the last year of accounting courses in the city of Sao Paulo, specifically from four institutions of higher education among the ten best of ENADE 2006. The main objective was to determine whether these students positively evaluate their accounting courses and what skills the labor market is requiring. For this, a questionnaire was distributed to 200 students of the 7th and 8th semesters of accounting courses, which were already active in the labor market. The questionnaire was composed of two elements: one to characterize the profile of the respondents, and the other with assertions to identify and enable the analysis of expectations and perspectives of these students. The main results indicated that students have knowledge of the areas in which the accountants can work and believe that the institutions of higher education are seeking to update their curriculum bars face the demands of the labor market but it still needs further improvement, according to the minority of respondents.
